Payday, Bonus and HELP!!!

I feel like I am being tramatized. I received my paycheck and bonus today and I DON'T want to send it all to bills and debt!!! HELP!!!

Help me pull the trigger and schedule the payments. I have an extra $8,500 in my account to pay off my Cap One Business Card ($800), the Perkins Loan ($2,300) and my smallest private student loan ($5,300).

Please encourage me so that I know I am not making a mistake. That is a lot of money to go out the door all at once!!! Oh God....Breathe!!!

OMG, do it, do it, DO IT!! You will feel SO good knocking three debts out at once. Imagine the boost to your debt snowball! You will gain serious momentum from this. Trust me, this is the BEST way to use your windfall (i.e., buying the feeling of paying off debt)!

I say keep $50-100... Treat yourself to a Pedi/mani or massage... Then you will feel rewarded and yet have sent the majority of the money to debt!!! You can do it!!

Do it do it do it! Do it FAST, so it will be like you never had that money. You'll feel so good when you see those balances go down! You can do this! You've been doing so great!

You can do it! Just open your own blog and look at the ENORMOUS list of debts and know you have to pay them all off and that starts today.

Pay it all!!!!! Don't save anything for yourself. This is how you get into trouble!! Your reward is paying off debt. Congrats on the bonus, and treat yourself to being more financially free!

You do this! You do not need encouragement, but how about a treat for being a good bill payer. What do those bills cost you monthly in payments? What if you pay them off this month and next month the amount the payments would be is yours to do something special?

Freedom and fun all in one great big package!

I scheduled the payments for the Cap One Business Card and the Perkins Loan. I just got an email from my student loan company on the payoff amount for the smaller loan and I will schedule that payment too. =)

When I got my bonus, I just sat on it for two weeks - didn't touch it and tried not to think about it. Then, when the excitement of getting it wore off I paid debts with it, and it felt like no big deal. I really do think it helped to just let it sit; it was way less "emotional". You can do it!

Love, love, love your transparency! Tackling debt is hard. Stay focused. Imagine the life you want. Think about your dreams. Keep your eyes on the prize. It's only the second month and you will have made more progress than you've made all of last year, correct me if I'm wrong. Do It Now!

I agree with Anonymous - sit on it for a couple of weeks. Look at the balance when you feel like it and know it is your choice to put the money on your loans. I think you should take the time to relish your bonus!

I should say this is the first time I've posted (being a short-term lurker!) I really admire your courage in confronting your debt and I'm here to cheer you on in paying it off.

P.S. Hello from Australia!

Do it! You will feel so much better after you do it. Just think of how bad you would feel if you didn't do it and you ended up using the money on useless things. JUST DO IT!!
