I got the position with Macys but it's a part-time position instead of the on call position and it's at one of the vendors. I will be working about 12 hours a week on weeknights and weekends. They're starting me out at $10.75/hour with 3% commission. I took it and will probably go for training next Tuesday.
Second, I got an inquiry on my listing with the roommate site. The woman and I exchanged a few emails and she may come to see my place on Saturday.
That's about it. Have a great weekend. Go Blackhawks!!! :-)

Good news! If your condo is a 3 bedroom I would consider getting 2 roommates. You already are giving up some of your privacy and a second one could pay for the rest of your mortgage!
I wish I could express how much I hate the Blackhawks. They swept my poor Sharks in the conference finals. Boo hiss Blackhawks!
I wish I could tell you how proud I am of you (I'm like a mother, right?!?! :D). Finally, serious, concrete actions to move yourself into a better financial position, on both fronts!!
I know you don't want to work weeknights. I know you don't want a roommate. That you're accepting weeknights and meeting with a potential roommate says that the lightbulb is shining so bright now! If you and potential roomie get along, you should be able to cease your savings draw and accelerate payments on your debt at the same time, and that'll be an awesome feeling! Good for you.
WCB,
I hope both the position and the roommate work out. The good thing about working a lot is that you don't have a lot of time to spend money. And you might even enjoy your roommate.
Make sure all that Macy's money gets put toward debt. (Maybe do some calculations on your debt considering the part-time job).
Yea!
Krys
You are making big moves! Keep it up.
Long time lurker, first time commenter. Sounds like some things are falling into place for you. That is great!
Holy cow! Look at the positive results from just taking a few steps. Great job!
@ Theresa - I would consider renting my place out completely if something in my life changes but my personal limit is one roommate. If you knew me, you would know that's a stretch. I am big on personal space and privacy. This blog is actually outside my norm but it's anonymous so I get some comfort. =)
@ Krys: The part-time job is to supplement my income but the roommate would be for additional debt reduction. I do think that working and keeping busy will help me spend less. I am already calculating how much I have to work to buy this or that so I can see it being a positive thing all around.
@ Broke by Choice & Velvet Jones: Thanks a lot!!!
@ Zuzu: Welcome!!! I hope you stick around and continue to post your comments. I am going to get back to blogging 4-5 times a week again.
@ Aaren - Hater!!! j/k. I am not a huge hockey fan but I am a huge Chicago fan so it's great for the City. Downtown Chicago was pure madness for the rally last week.
The light bulb is kinda going off but I still haven't reigned in my spending. I am thinking about moving to the envelope system where I have a set amount of cash to spend each week.
