Why Complain...

I was thinking last night and this morning about complaining and negative energy. I've been guilty of it and those around me lately have been as well.  Do you think it's possible to go a day without complaining?  I think we collectively need to be more aware of when we are complaining.  If we stop for a second and think about all we have to be grateful for, we would put out much better positive energy.  We would realize there is so much more to be thankful for than there is to complain about.

We have to turn things around when we start thinking and talking about what we don't want, what we don't wish to happen and what we don't appreciate.  We can pivot and focus our thoughts and words on what we do want, what we wish to happen and what we do appreciate.  There is no need to focus on the negatives when we can take that same energy to focus on the positives in people, circumstances and events.  Then you have a chance (which is all you need) to bring more of what you like and appreciate into your life.

Completely agree! When I was still living in Chicago I was miserable and complained all the time. I was definitely bitter. It took a complete life makeover fo get away from all the negative in my life and boy was it worth it! Sounds like things really turned around for you too!

I find that when I am focused on what's not going right and what I don't want, it's difficult to gain momentum.

If I focus on what I do want, what's going well and the good in my life and in people, I am able to gain momentum. Positive things begin to flow into my life.

Agree as well! Sometimes at work I get annoyed with a coworker because well..she is a little OCD and can be anal retentive (even more so than me!) and instead of complaining (to myself) and grumbling. I just remember that she is type A like me and just likes to be in control of everything (however I'm more of a follower versus a leader but hey not everyone can lead...nothing would get done lol). By keeping that in mind I'm able to look past it when she asks me a million questions and tries to oversee my work sometimes when she isn't my boss. But she is a great worker and does a terrific job so as gonna_make_it said sometimes its all about looking past the negative and focusing on the positive that comes from a situation. :)

@ Smart Sorority Girl - Absolutely! There's always going to be a negative. It's all about what you choose to focus on that matters.
