I am not a financial advisor. The information shared on Windy City Blues is simply a reflection of my personal opinion and does not attempt to give you advice that relates to your specific circumstances.
I am back to trying to spend under $200/week. Although I spent more than $200 last week, $130 was to get my air conditioning unit cleaned which was an absolute must. Eliminate the $130 and I was at $144 for the week. Not bad at all.
Glad to see you're back and wish you the best! I have a similar salary to yours though without a bonus potential so yoh likely make more. I paid off my debts by cutting things that you seem reluctant to put on the chopping block. I looked at your budget - you could save a lot by cutting the cable combo! I do not miss mine. I can see almost any tv show on the internet and netflix. Also I sold my car. In chicago there are many other ways to get around, including cta, zipcar and cabs. It really is possible. And your friends will be impressed if you tell them you're going green and saving money in the process. Those two things could really help you get ahead quickly. Good luck!
Hi Scooze! Thank you for reading and for the comment. I actually live out in the South Suburbs so I need my car even to get to the train station. It's paid off. I grapple with the cable combo all the time.
